Lyudao Junior High is the sole junior high school on Green Island, a small volcanic island off Taiwan's southeast coast. Located in Zhongliao Village, the island's main settlement, the school draws together every student on the island once they finish elementary school — whether they come from Gongguan Elementary in the north or Lyudao Elementary near Zhongliao itself. As the island's only option at this level, the school plays an outsized role in the daily life of Green Island's small community.
