Rebuilt with a hands-on farming spirit.

Ruitian Elementary School was founded in 1952 in a village originally called Lu-yan, which was renamed Ruitian in 1959 — the school taking on the same new name. The campus was destroyed in the catastrophic 1999 921 earthquake and rebuilt with support from Lions Club International District 300A. Today Ruitian is known as a small forest school with dedicated farm-teaching areas, giving students direct, hands-on experience with agricultural education.
