Lucao Junior High School

Lucao Junior High traces its roots to 1964, when it began as a branch of Lantan Junior High School serving Lucao Township. It became an independent school the following year as Chiayi County Lucao Junior High School, taking its present name in 1968. A major building project completed in 2007 added 25 new classrooms funded by a Ministry of Education renovation grant, and the campus has since embraced digital learning tools including 因材網, COOL English, and Office 365. As the only junior high in this flat, rural stretch of the Chianan Plain, the school serves as a shared destination for graduates of Lucao's several elementary schools.

鹿草國中創校於民國53年（1964年），最初為蘭潭初級中學鹿草分部，隔年（民國54年）獨立設校，定名為嘉義縣立鹿草初級中學，民國57年（1968年）改為現名。民國96年（2007年）完成校舍重建工程，透過教育部老舊校舍補助新增25間教室，並持續推動因材網、COOL English、Office 365等數位學習工具。作為嘉南平原上這個平坦農業鄉唯一的國中，本校是鹿草各國小畢業生共同的升學去處。
