Longxing Junior High's preparatory office was established on August 1, 1994, at Longgang Junior High's office, and the school opened for enrollment on August 1, 1999. Its 3.269-hectare campus opened with 13 classes and 513 students, and has since grown to roughly 35 classes and more than 1,000 students. The school was established specifically to relieve overcrowding at Longgang Junior High as the Longgang area's population grew, and it became municipal on December 25, 2014.
龍興國中籌備處於民國83年（1994年）8月1日設於龍岡國中辦公室，1999年8月1日正式開學招生。校地面積3.269公頃，創校時招收13班、513名學生，如今已成長至約35班、逾1,000名學生。學校設立的初衷是為紓解龍岡國中因人口成長而產生的就學壓力，2014年12月25日改制為市立學校。
