Longtan Junior High School

Longtan Junior High was established in August 1961 as the Longtan branch of Yangmei Middle School, under branch director Chen Ji-chang. It became an independent school in May 1966, renamed "Taoyuan County Longtan Junior High School," and took its present form in 1968 when nine-year compulsory education was implemented nationwide. As the oldest and original junior high in Longtan town center, it served as the "mother school" from which three later Longtan junior highs — Lingyun, Wuhan, and Shimen — originated as branch campuses before going independent, making it the historic hub of secondary education in the district. It was renamed to its current Taoyuan City designation in December 2014.

龍潭國中創立於民國50年（1961年）8月，最初為楊梅中學龍潭分部，由分部主任陳吉昌負責。民國55年（1966年）5月獨立設校，改稱「桃園縣立龍潭初級中學」，並於民國57年（1968年）九年國教實施後定名至今。作為龍潭市區歷史最悠久的國中，凌雲、武漢、石門三校最初皆以其分校身分成立，後陸續獨立設校，使龍潭國中成為區內中等教育的歷史核心。民國103年（2014年）12月改為桃園市立學校。
