A hillside school with a hidden forest.
Longmu Elementary School became independent in 1971, growing out of the Longmu branch campus of Dashu Elementary School. Its hillside campus at the foot of the hills in Longmu ("dragon eye") Village has earned it the local nickname "green forest elementary school" (綠森林小學), thanks to an ecology pond and a hidden forest park tucked behind the school — a minor tourist attraction in its own right. The village and school take their name from a local geographic landform said to resemble a dragon's eye.
