The school celebrated its 60th anniversary in November 2016, and its students have been recognized in county-wide health exercise (健康操) competitions, reflecting a steady commitment to physical education alongside academics.
龍坑國小於1953年（民國42年）以通校（通霄國小系統）分校形式設立，1956年（民國45年）9月1日正式獨立設校。學校於2016年（民國105年）11月舉辦六十週年校慶，學生曾在全縣健康操競賽中獲得肯定，展現學校對體育與學業並重的用心。
