Longgang Harbor Elementary School became independent in September 1963 as Chiayi County Dongshi Township Longgang National School, having previously operated from 1956 as a branch class known as "Sanjiang Branch Class," associated with the lineage that also produced Sanjiang Elementary School. Under the motto "Creative Longgang, Hope Sets Sail," the school has an attached kindergarten and is active in art, music, and science-fair competitions at the county level, alongside community-based learning initiatives and mobile-device usage guidelines for digital literacy.
龍港國小於民國52年（1963年）9月獨立設校，定名為嘉義縣東石鄉龍港國民學校，此前自民國45年（1956年）起以「三江分班」形式運作，與三江國小系出同源。學校秉持「創意龍港 希望啟航」的校訓，附設龍港幼兒園，並積極參與縣級美術、音樂與科展競賽，同時推動社區本位學習與行動載具使用規範，深化數位素養教育。
