A school that helped its neighbors get started.

Lixing Elementary was founded in March 1941, during the Japanese colonial era, as "Yilan City North National School" (宜蘭市北國民學校). It was renamed Taipei County Yilan City Lixing National School in 1946, then Yilan County Yilan City Lixing National School after Yilan became its own county in 1950, and finally took its current name in 1968. The school has a quiet but notable role in local education history: when Yilan Junior High School was first getting organized in 1956, its earliest classes were held at Lixing's campus before that school found its own independent footing.
