Liujia's junior high division traces its roots to 1968. In December 2013, the school was approved to convert into a "complete middle school" combining junior and senior high divisions, and the senior high division opened its doors in August 2015. Today the school offers a direct-advancement track from junior high into its own senior high program, and it maintains sister-school relationships with Westmont High School (Illinois, USA), Syracuse High School (Utah, USA), and Takehara High School (Hiroshima, Japan).
六家高中國中部歷史可追溯至1968年。民國102年（2013年）12月，學校奉准改制為兼具國中部與高中部的完全中學，高中部於2015年8月正式招生。目前學校設有國中直升高中的銜接管道，並與美國伊利諾州的Westmont High School、猶他州的Syracuse High School，以及日本廣島縣的竹原高等學校締結姊妹校關係。
