Linyuan Elementary was founded on June 5, 1902, under Japanese rule as 頂林仔邊公學校 — the oldest school in Linyuan District. It has been renamed multiple times since, and in 1994 introduced a dedicated arts-talent class. Its original campus once served as temporary quarters for the predecessor of today's Linyuan Senior High School.
林園國小創立於明治35年(1902年)6月5日,原名「頂林仔邊公學校」,是林園區歷史最悠久的學校。校名歷經多次更迭,並於民國83年(1994年)起開設美術才能班。其舊校址曾作為林園高中前身的臨時校舍。
