About · 學校簡介

Built to ease a growing community.

Linong Elementary opened in 1977 with 18 classes, created to absorb overflow students from the fast-growing Shipai community — drawing students who had previously been assigned to Shipai and Qingjiang elementary schools. An early principal, Zheng Yao-meng, supported a children's theater troupe and founded a soccer team, while a second principal established special-education and kindergarten classes in 1981. The school sits right beside Qilian (唭哩岸) MRT station on the Danshui Line.

Local Culture · 在地文化

Named for an Indigenous place name.

🪨

"Qilian" (唭哩岸), the neighborhood beside the school, is a place name derived from a Ketagalan Indigenous word. The area is known for its "Qilian stone" (唭哩岸石), a basalt/sandstone tied to the same volcanic geology underlying Beitou's hot springs. See the Taipei county page for more on the region.
