Profile

A shared origin, split into two schools in 1937.

Lingzhou Elementary shares its founding root with nearby Chenggong Elementary: both trace back to April 1, 1904, when the school opened during the Japanese colonial era as the Lingyaliao Branch of Takao Public School In 1905, the school moved to Lingyaliao proper — the site occupied by Chenggong Elementary today — before being renamed Kaohsiung No. 2 Public School in 1921. A second campus was established at Guotianzi in 1937, becoming today's separate Lingzhou Elementary School. The two schools are historical "siblings" rather than unrelated institutions.
