A joyful-community name with seven decades of history.
Lequn Elementary School was founded in 1953. Its name, "樂群" ("joyful community" or "sociable and cooperative"), reflects a naming trend common to mid-1950s Taiwanese schools that emphasized civic virtue. In 1977, Lequn lent its classrooms to the first students of the newly founded Guanghua Junior High School before that school's own campus was ready.
