Lanya Junior High School held its first day of classes on September 5, 1977, and takes its name from its location near the historic "Nanya" (湳雅) area of Shilin. Today it runs 42 regular classes plus 7 special classes — including gifted math/science programs — serving roughly 1,100 students, with facilities that include an indoor heated swimming pool. The school was selected for Taipei City's "Spotlight Program" (亮點計畫) starting in December 2016, and won the Ministry of Education's National Teaching Excellence Award (Gold) in 2020.
蘭雅國中於民國66年（1977年）9月5日正式開學，校名源自士林舊地名「湳雅」一帶。目前設有普通班42班、特殊班7班（含數理資優班），學生約1,100人，並設有室內溫水游泳池等設施。學校於民國105年（2016年）12月獲選臺北市「亮點計畫」，並於民國109年（2020年）榮獲教育部教學卓越獎金質獎。
