A small school, a big language commitment.

Laiji Elementary serves the Tsou (鄒族) indigenous village of Laiji in Alishan Township. With a small enrollment, the school uses remote-learning classrooms via Google Classroom to connect students across grades 1 through 6, while weaving Tsou-language instruction into daily school life — daily Tsou phrases even appear on the school's own website. It maintains an Indigenous Education Resource Center, and its teaching team won the Ministry of Education's 2024 Teaching Excellence Award (教學卓越金質獎), a rare national-level honor for such a small mountain school.
