A century-old school that changed townships.
Zhuhu Elementary School opened in 1922 as a branch classroom of Hunei Township's First Public School (湖內鄉第一公學校竹滬分教場), becoming fully independent in 1944 as Hunei Township Zhuhu National School. In 1950, administrative boundaries shifted and the school was transferred from Hunei to Lujhu Township, where it remains today. A 2019 Central News Agency (CNA) feature highlighted how this century-old school has reinvented itself by weaving local history into its curriculum and identity.
