Yong'an Junior High School opened in August 1975, and became an independent Kaohsiung County junior high school in 1979. It remains the only junior high school serving Yong'an District, a coastal community historically defined by saltwater fish farming. Alongside its academics, the school has built a reputation in field hockey and taekwondo, and runs a pottery and ceramics club.
永安國民中學創校於民國64年（1975年）8月，民國68年（1979年）獨立設校為高雄縣立永安國中，是永安區唯一的國中。這個沿海社區長期以來以海水養殖魚塭聞名，學校則以曲棍球與跆拳道隊建立起體育口碑，並設有陶藝社團。
