Xinxing Elementary School

Xinxing Elementary opened in the spring of 1950 under founding principal Xu Zexiang. The school grew quickly in its first decade, expanding from 18 to 40 classes by 1961. In 1965 it established a special class for physically disabled children, and in 1968 it was designated a "hub school" for the surrounding area. The school shares its name and district with nearby Xinxing Senior High and Xinxing Junior High, together anchoring Kaohsiung's historic Xinxing commercial district.

新興國小創立於民國39年（1950年）春，首任校長為許則祥。學校在創校頭十年迅速成長，至民國50年（1961年）已由18班擴增為40班。民國54年（1965年）成立肢體障礙兒童特殊教育班，民國57年（1968年）獲指定為中心學校。學校與鄰近的新興高中、新興國中共享校名與行政區，共同座落於高雄歷史悠久的新興商圈。
