Xinjia Elementary School opened in August 1979 with just 16 classes, in the newly developing 五甲 (Wujia) area bordering Lingya District — a district then in the middle of rapid urbanization. Enrollment grew quickly, peaking at more than 4,500 students. Later principals built out English-language and computer education programs, along with reading initiatives, shaping the school's academic character over the decades since.
新甲國小創校於民國68年(1979年)8月,最初僅有16班,位於當時正快速都市化、與苓雅區接壤的新興五甲地區。學生人數迅速成長,全盛時期曾逾4,500人。歷任校長陸續發展英語教育、電腦教育與閱讀推廣計畫,形塑了學校數十年來的辦學特色。
