Ruifeng Elementary School began planning in April 1972 and officially opened in 1973 with 20 classes and roughly 1,100 students, initially housed at Lequn Elementary before its own campus was ready. Enrollment then exploded, peaking at over 7,300 students by 1981 — a scale of growth that prompted the school to spin off Ruixiang Elementary that same year. Few schools in Cianjhen illustrate the district's explosive 1970s-80s population boom as vividly.
瑞豐國小於民國61年（1972年）4月開始籌劃，1973年正式開校，設20班、約1,100名學生，初期借用樂群國小校舍。此後學生人數急遽攀升，至民國70年（1981年）高峰時達逾7,300人，龐大的規模促使學校於同年分出瑞祥國小。前鎮1970至80年代人口爆炸性成長的歷程，少有學校比瑞豐國小更能鮮明體現。
