From military-family classroom to neighborhood school.
Qingshan Elementary School was founded in the fall of 1950 as “聯合勤務總司令部附設高雄子弟學校,” a school established for the children of personnel of the Joint Logistics Command (聯勤總司令部). Its first classes were held in thatch-roofed buildings amid rice paddies just outside the Command's uniform factory, in what was then a rural stretch of Siaogang. The school took its current name, Qingshan, in 1979. Its origin as a military-dependents' school reflects the postwar military and industrial land use that shaped Siaogang's landscape well before its later urbanization.

Where military installations once met rice paddies.
Qingshan Elementary's founding as a school for Joint Logistics Command families is a window into Siaogang's postwar landscape, where military installations and industrial facilities like the Command's uniform factory sat alongside the district's rice paddies, decades before land reclamation and urbanization reshaped the area.
