Qianjin Elementary School opened in April 1937, during the Japanese colonial era, originally to serve the children of Japanese settlers living in what was then the administrative core of Takao Shi (the Japanese-era name for Kaohsiung). Detailed records of the school's later history are limited, but it has continued for nearly nine decades to serve families in Cianjin District, one of downtown Kaohsiung's oldest urban neighborhoods.
前金國小創立於昭和12年（1937年）4月，日治時期最初是為服務居住於「高雄市」行政核心地帶的日籍移民子弟而設立。學校後續歷史的詳細紀錄有限，但近九十年來持續服務前金區——高雄市區歷史最悠久的市中心社區之一——的學童。
