Luzhu Elementary School was founded in 1943, splitting off from Dashe Elementary School and merging with a branch campus in Sanye Village. As the district's flagship elementary school, anchoring the Lujhu town center, it has since given rise to newer schools of its own — most recently Caiwen Elementary School, which split off from Luzhu in 2001.
