A name that remembers the tide.

Haipu Elementary opened in 1952 as a branch of Wenxian Elementary School, becoming independent on August 1, 1955. Affectionately known by its tagline "Home of the Haipu Kids" (海埔囡仔ㄟ厝), the school takes its name from Haipu, meaning "seashore mudflat" — a reminder that this part of Hunei District was once reclaimed coastal and tidal land near the mouth of the Erren River.
