A neighborhood school on a revolutionary's road.
Dongguang Elementary School serves families in the central part of Sanmin District, on Huangxing Road (黃興路) — a street named for Huang Xing, a leading figure of the early Republican revolutionary movement and co-founder of the Tongmenghui alongside Sun Yat-sen. When neighboring Yangming Elementary School opened its doors in 1991, it absorbed some students from Dongguang's and Zhengxing's catchment areas, reflecting how the district's school boundaries shifted as Sanmin grew.
