From one classroom to a neighborhood institution.
Zhonghe Elementary traces its roots to 1931, when a single classroom building was constructed and named the Neimushan Mandarin Training Institute It became an independent six-class school in 1954, taking the name Da-Ganlin National School (大竿林國校) in Zhongshan District. The school has since marked 60 years of institutional history and remains a long-running community school for the Da-Ganlin neighborhood.
