From a vocational track to a lakeside campus.
The school began in 1962 as a vocational division attached to Fujian Provincial Kinmen Senior High School, before splitting off and relocating to Jinhu's Shanwai area in August 1975, where it sits today by the shores of Taihu Lake. It became an independently established school on August 1, 1981, and was elevated to national ("國立") status in 1984 — a change reflecting island-wide reforms to school governance in Taiwan.

A vocational anchor on Kinmen.
As Kinmen's national vocational senior high school, the school has long served as a training ground for the island's agricultural and industrial trades, growing alongside Kinmen's own institutional development from provincial to national administration.
