Kaohsiung Medical University

Kaohsiung Medical University was founded on October 16, 1954, by physician Tu Tsung-ming, who established the school specifically to address a shortage of doctors in southern Taiwan. It holds the distinction of being Taiwan's oldest private medical school. KMU today spans eight academic colleges — including Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Nursing, Health Science, and Life Sciences — and operates seven affiliated teaching hospitals, including Chung-Ho Memorial Hospital, the largest medical center in southern Taiwan. It is also the only medical academic institution in Taiwan offering graduate-entry (post-baccalaureate) medical programs.

高雄醫學大學創立於民國43年（1954年）10月16日，由醫師杜聰明博士創辦，設校宗旨即為解決南台灣醫師人力短缺的問題。它是台灣歷史最悠久的私立醫學院。高醫大現今設有八大學院——包括醫學、牙醫、藥學、護理、健康科學、生命科學等學院——並經營七家附屬教學醫院，其中高醫附設中和紀念醫院是南台灣最大的醫學中心。高醫大也是全台唯一開設學士後醫學系（Post-Baccalaureate）的醫學教育機構。
