Tainan Municipal Kaiyuan Elementary School

Kaiyuan Elementary School was founded in 1955, taking its name directly from the nearby Kaiyuan Temple (開元寺), one of Tainan's oldest and most important Buddhist temples. Due to its proximity to former military barracks, the school has historically enrolled many children of military families among its alumni — among them the notable Taiwanese folk singer Zhao Shu-hai. Kaiyuan currently serves about 648 students across grades one through six, plus kindergarten, with a teaching staff of 71.

開元國小創立於1955年（民國44年），校名直接取自鄰近的臺南古剎開元寺，是臺南歷史最悠久、最重要的佛寺之一。因鄰近昔日軍營，學校歷來有不少軍眷子弟就讀，知名校友包括臺灣民歌手趙樹海。開元國小目前共有約648名一至六年級學生，加上幼兒園，教職員共71人。
