A century-old school on donated farmland.
Jiyang Elementary School opened on April 1, 1919, as a branch of Milong Public School called Shoujinliao Branch (瀰濃公學校手巾寮分校). The land for the school was donated by Nanlong Farm, and it opened with three classes and 87 students. Today Jiyang remains a very small rural school — as of 2022 it had just seven classes and 86 students — serving a close-knit farming community in Meinong District.
