From two village schools to a modern campus.

Jinhu Elementary traces back to two predecessor schools, Taiwu Elementary and Huqian Elementary, both founded in 1951. They merged and were renamed "Kinmen County Jinhu Central Public School" in 1956, then "Jinhu Public School" in 1966. The school was built under the direction of Kinmen Defense Commander General Hu Lien, who required every village to have a school, with local resident Yin Dianjia credited with helping build it. A new NT$270 million campus of five buildings — including one shaped like a "sky lantern" — was completed for the school's 68th anniversary.
