Grown from a branch campus into an independent school.
Jingliao Junior High began in 1975 as a branch campus of Houbi Junior High in Changduanshu Village, initially borrowing classrooms at Jingliao Elementary School. It moved into its own partially completed campus the following year and became a fully independent school in 1979 as "Tainan County Jingliao Junior High School." Its home village sits directly adjacent to Jingliao — the rural community made internationally known by the 2004 documentary "Let It Be" (無米樂).

🌱 A School for a Small Farming Community

Neighboring the "Let It Be" village.
Jingliao Junior High serves the Jingliao (菁寮) community at the heart of "Let It Be" (無米樂) country, where the 2004 documentary famously followed elderly farmers continuing traditional, low-mechanization rice cultivation. The school's own roots as a borrowed-classroom branch campus mirror the same story of a small farming community building its institutions from scratch.
