About · 學校簡介

Founded for a safer commute, reborn as a Hakka-humanities pioneer.

Jidong Elementary School opened in September 1953, splitting off from Jiyang Elementary's school district because children faced a long and unsafe commute to the original school. Today it is one of Kaohsiung's designated "campus maker bases," and in 2018 it was approved as Taiwan's first Hakka-humanities themed experimental school, with its entire curriculum now built around Hakka humanities alongside local food and agriculture education.
