Jiaxing Junior High traces its origins to a preparatory committee formed in December 1972, and operated from 1974 to 1979 as a branch campus of Jiali Junior High, borrowing classrooms from Jiaxing Elementary School. It gained independent status in August 1979 as Tainan County Jiaxing Junior High School, under founding principal Xu Xiannan. The school was created specifically to relieve overcrowding at Jiali Junior High after the expansion of nine-year compulsory education, and to serve the more remote Jiaxing (佳興) and Zilong (子龍) school districts so local children would no longer face a long commute.
佳興國中的校史可追溯至民國61年（1972年）12月成立的籌備委員會，民國63年（1974年）至68年（1979年）間先以佳里國中分校型態運作，借用佳興國小教室上課。民國68年（1979年）8月正式獨立設校，定名「臺南縣立佳興國民中學」，首任校長為許顯男。設校目的在於紓解九年國教實施後佳里國中學生數過多的壓力，並就近服務較偏遠的佳興、子龍學區學童。

Jiaxing Junior High's founding in 1979 reflects Jiali's rapid mid-20th-century population growth, as the district's rural market-town core urbanized and its schools struggled to keep pace. The wider district remains centered on Jinluan Temple (金唐殿), one of the Tainan coastal plain's key Wangye "King Boat Festival" temples, and on the Siraya Pingpu ancestor-spirit (阿立祖) worship traditions that persist in surrounding hamlets such as the former Fanzailiao (番子寮).
