Jiaxing Elementary School

Jiaxing Elementary began in 1959 as a branch school, teaching its first classes in a borrowed sericulture (silkworm-raising) room in Yixing Village. It moved to Jiale Village in 1961 and became fully independent in 1963, later being named a "central school" for the area in 1970. It holds the distinction of being the first elementary school built along County Route 60, the road that winds deep into Jianshi Township's Atayal Indigenous communities. Today the school is designated a Tayal ethnic experimental school, and for years operated jointly with a branch campus in Yixing Village, which it formally absorbed in 1965.

嘉興國小創校於1959年（民國48年），初期借用義興村的養蠶室作為分班教室，1961年遷至嘉樂村，1963年正式獨立設校，1970年並被指定為地區「中心學校」。該校是縣道60線——這條深入尖石鄉泰雅族部落的重要道路——上最早設立的國小。如今學校為泰雅族實驗學校，多年來與義興分校共同運作，並已於1965年正式將義興分校納入本校體制。
