Built by the community it serves.
Jiaoxi Junior High began in 1956 as a Jiaoxi branch of Toucheng County Middle School (宜蘭縣立頭城中學礁溪分部), becoming independent in 1957 as Yilan County Jiaoxi Junior High School, with its current name adopted in 1968. Upon independence, local community leaders raised funds to purchase land and build the school's facilities. The school then established its own branch in Wusha in 1974 — which itself split off as an independent school in 1977 — and grew rapidly from 9 to 35 classes between 1968 and 1975. The Taiwan Provincial Governor visited to mark the school's 20th anniversary in 1977.
