From a borrowed gymnasium to a maker-education hub.
Jianguo Junior High's preparatory committee formed in 1974 at nearby Qingxi Junior High. The school was formally established in 1975, admitting eight first-year classes that were initially housed in the county gymnasium before moving to its own campus in May 1976. In 1983 it was designated a demonstration school for administrative computerization, and in 2017 it was approved to launch a math and science gifted program and was named Taoyuan's first "Innovative Maker Education Satellite School" by the Ministry of Education. In March 2018 it became the site of the "Taoyuan City Maker Education and Technology Center" (桃園市自造教育及科技中心), cementing its role as a hub for hands-on STEM learning in the city.
