Jian'an Elementary was founded in 1955 on a reserved lot on Siwei Road, opening with just 3 classes under its first principal, Liu Zhuo-dong, before later relocating to its current Da'an Road site. The school is known citywide for its art program (美術班) and competitive gymnastics team, and has grown large for an elementary school — about 70 classes and 1,865 students as of the 2021–22 school year. It offers an unusually wide range of extracurricular clubs, from baseball, badminton, basketball, taekwondo, and dance to diabolo, martial arts, baking, Go, chess, magic, and marching bands.
建安國小創立於民國44年（1955年），最初於四維路一處保留地開校，僅3個班級，首任校長為劉卓東，後遷至現今大安路校址。學校以美術班及體操隊聞名全市，規模也相當可觀——截至110學年度（2021–22年）約有70個班級、1,865名學生。社團活動種類繁多，涵蓋棒球、羽球、籃球、跆拳道、舞蹈、扯鈴、武術、烘焙、圍棋、西洋棋、魔術及行進樂隊等。
