The parent school of two others.
Jiading Elementary School's own history dates its founding to 1906 (recorded in its records as '民前6年,' six years before the founding of the Republic of China), when it opened as a branch of Dahu Public School called 'Dinjiading Branch School,' with its earliest classes held at the Dinjiading Cifu Temple (頂茄萣賜福宮). It became independent in 1917 as 'Dinjiading Public School' and relocated in 1938 to its present site near Mazu Mountain (媽祖婆山). Over the following decades, it gave rise to two other schools now serving the district — Chenggong Elementary School split off in 1952 and Shalun Elementary School in 1957–58. Enrollment has ranged between roughly 606 and 667 students depending on the source year, and student clubs include ukulele, Chinese orchestra, Songjiang Battle Array (宋江陣) folk martial arts, judo, and tennis.
