Huxi Junior High School

Huxi Junior High opened its doors in 1966 as a branch of Magong Junior High, the result of a petition township residents began pursuing in 1963. It became an independent school, "Penghu County Huxi Junior High," in 1968. In 1970 it established a Shagang branch campus because students lacked direct transportation to the main site — that branch became independent in 1975 as Zhiqing Junior High. Enrollment peaked at 1,110 students across 23 classes in 1974, before declining steadily to 244 students by 2003. Notably, the school secured its original site by purchasing over 5,000 ping of land through community fundraising.

湖西國中自民國52年（1963年）起由地方居民發起請願，於民國55年（1966年）以馬公國中分校形式創校，民國57年（1968年）獨立設校，定名「澎湖縣立湖西國民中學」。民國59年（1970年）因學生往返交通不便，增設沙港分校，該分校於民國64年（1975年）獨立設校為志清國中。在學人數於民國63年（1974年）達到高峰，共1,110名學生、23個班級，其後逐年下滑，至民國92年（2003年）僅剩244人。值得一提的是，學校最初的校地係由社區集資購買逾5,000坪土地而來。
