Hukou Junior High School

Hukou Junior High School traces its origins to 1953 as a branch of Hsinchu Middle School serving Hukou Township. For decades, it operated as "Zhongzheng Junior High School" (中正國中), sharing a campus and administration with Hukou Senior High as part of a single combined "complete middle school." In August 2025, the two divisions formally split into independent institutions, and the junior high took over the original Zhongzheng Road campus under its current, geographically named identity: Hukou Junior High School. Readers may still encounter references to "Zhongzheng Junior High" in older records — it is the same school. The school runs a bilingual education initiative and has a long record of strong results in the national Junior High Achievement Test.

湖口國民中學創校淵源可追溯至民國42年（1953年）新竹中學湖口分部。長年以來，本校以「中正國中」為名，與湖口高中共用校區與行政體系，同屬一所「完全中學」。民國114年（2025年）8月，兩部正式分立為獨立學校，國中部承接原中正路校區，並以現行地名「湖口國民中學」重新命名。舊資料中可能仍會看到「中正國中」的名稱，兩者實為同一所學校。學校推動雙語教育，並在國中教育會考中長期表現優異。
