An 80-year anchor of Taoyuan's school system.
Hui-Ji Elementary was founded in 1945, the same year Taiwan was returned to Republic of China administration, making it one of the oldest schools in this part of Taoyuan District. The school is well known for athletics, fielding varsity teams in soccer, badminton, and wrestling. In 2003 it spun off its own "快樂分校" (Happy Branch), which became the independent Happy Elementary in 2004 — meaning Hui-Ji is literally the parent school of another campus in the district. Its name references the ancient Chinese place name "會稽" (Kuaiji), a common naming convention among schools of that founding era.

🏛️ Anchoring the Postwar Core
As one of only two 1945-founded schools in this area (alongside East Gate Elementary, founded a decade earlier in 1934), Hui-Ji anchors the historic core of Taoyuan District's public-school system from the immediate post-retrocession period.
Eighty years of generating new schools.
