Named for a life of quiet service.

Huaren Elementary began in 1959 as a branch class of Yichang Elementary, was upgraded to a branch school in 1964, and became fully independent in 1968. The school takes its name from Qiu Huaren (1885–1953), a local figure who resisted Japanese colonial police, fled to Ji'an, and spent years teaching farming techniques and Chinese literacy to local youth. After Taiwan's retrocession, Qiu continued his community service work until his death at the age of 81 — a legacy of quiet, sustained dedication that the school's name now carries forward.
