A century of branches growing from one root.
Huanya Elementary was founded on March 27, 1919, as "Yanshui Public School's Fanzicuo Branch," initially led by branch principal Sagara Yoshito, with the first formal principal, Hirose Kiyoshi, arriving that September. It became independent as "Fanzicuo Public School" in 1922, was renamed several times through the following decades, and took its current name, Huanya National Elementary School, in 1968. It is Yanshui district's second-oldest school, and celebrated its 100th anniversary with Tainan Mayor Huang Wei-che attending in person.
歡雅國小創立於大正8年（1919年）3月27日，最初為「鹽水港公學校番子厝分校」，首任分校主任為相良義人，同年9月正式校長廣瀨清士到任。大正11年（1922年）獨立設校為「番子厝公學校」，其後歷經數次更名，民國57年（1968年）改為現名「歡雅國民小學」。學校是鹽水區第二悠久的學校，創校百週年校慶更由臺南市長黃偉哲親自出席。
