National Hualien Senior High School

National Hualien Senior High School was founded in 1936 under Japanese rule as Hualien Harbor Middle School, with funding support from local philanthropists — a notably community-driven origin for a colonial-era institution. Historically a boys' school, it opened its music and athletics programs to both genders starting in 2002 and became a national school in 2000. The campus preserves the county-designated historic Kuo Tzu-chiu Music and Culture Hall, and the school's football team captured the national High School Football League championship in 2019.

花蓮高中創立於1936年日治時期，初名「花蓮港中學校」，創校經費部分來自地方仕紳捐助——這在殖民時期的學校中頗具在地色彩。學校歷史上原為男子中學，自2002年起音樂與體育班對兩性開放，並於民國89年（2000年）改隸國立。校園內保存縣定古蹟郭子究音樂文化館，足球隊更於2019年勇奪全國高中甲級足球聯賽冠軍。
