Huajiang Elementary School was founded in 1979, when 712 students in grades 1 through 4 — 16 classes in all — transferred over from nearby Dali Elementary School to form the new campus. Tucked into aging lanes and alleys on Wanhua's western edge near the Xindian River dike along Huanhe South Road, Huajiang has remained a small ("mini") neighborhood school ever since; its attached kindergarten, added in 1987, now has 6 classes and roughly 152 children. The school is known for a whimsical internal naming scheme, with stairwells named after the Confucian "Five Constant Virtues" and restrooms named after plum blossom, bamboo, and chrysanthemum.
華江國小創立於民國68年（1979年），首屆學生由鄰近大理國小轉入，計712名一至四年級學生、共16班。校址位於萬華西側環河南路沿線、緊鄰新店溪堤防的巷弄之間，長年維持「迷你學校」的規模；1987年增設附設幼稚園，現有6班、約152名幼兒。學校以趣味十足的空間命名聞名，樓梯間以儒家「五常」命名，廁所則分別以梅、竹、菊等命名。

Huajiang Elementary sits near Huanhe South Road along the Xindian River dike, part of Wanhua's historic riverside trading edge that grew alongside Bangka (艋舺), also known as Monga. The district's older core lies a short distance away, where Longshan Temple (龍山寺) and the traditional shops of Herb Lane (青草巷) still anchor Bangka's community life — a reminder that even this quiet riverside lane is part of Wanhua's much larger settlement story.
