后庄國小創立於1971年（民國60年），2023年舉行創校52週年慶祝活動。學校位於頭份市中心緊密的都市客家社區內。校內「文賢樓」重建後與鄰近的珠興國小舉行聯合啟用典禮，學校也開設「YES」學生賦能與充實課程，作為一般課程之外的補充。
