Houbi Junior High School

Houbi Junior High opened in 1968 to implement Taiwan's new nine-year compulsory education, holding its first classes temporarily at Houbi Elementary School before moving to its own newly developed campus that October. Under its second principal, Xu Kun-he, the school adopted the motto "Sincerity, Righteousness, Innovation, Substance" (誠、正、新、實). It became a Tainan City Life Education Center School in 2008 and a national exemplary life-education school, and its new campus buildings, completed in 2013, won a National Award for Excellence in Construction. In 2023 the Ministry of Education named it a Character Education Featured School.

後壁國中創立於民國57年（1968年），為落實九年國教，初期借用後壁國小校舍上課，同年10月遷入新建校區。第二任校長許昆和訂定「誠、正、新、實」校訓。民國97年（2008年）獲選臺南市生命教育中心學校，並獲全國生命教育績優學校；民國102年（2013年）完工的新校舍獲國家卓越建設獎。民國112年（2023年）獲教育部選為品德教育特色學校。
