Hongdao Junior High School

Hongdao Junior High School was established in July 1969 to meet demand created by Taiwan's newly implemented nine-year compulsory education. The school initially had no campus of its own — its earliest classes borrowed space at Dali Girls' and Bei'an Girls' schools, then at the Girls' Normal School's affiliated elementary, before a purpose-built campus (on land once slated for a new city hall) was finally completed in 1982. Today the school sits at a distinctive civic address, directly across from the Central Weather Bureau and within easy reach of Taipei Municipal University, 228 Peace Park, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the National Central Library. It has repeatedly won national recognition as a "character/moral education" model school.

弘道國中創立於民國58年（1969年）7月，為因應台灣新實施的九年國民義務教育而設立。建校初期並無自有校舍，早期班級曾借用大理女中、北安女中教室，後又借用女師專附小，直到民國71年（1982年）才在原規劃為新市政府用地的土地上完成自建校舍。本校現址地理位置特殊，正對中央氣象局，鄰近臺北市立大學、二二八和平公園、外交部與國家圖書館，並屢獲全國「品德教育特色學校」肯定。
